About Dr. Gravino

 

                                Kristine L. Gravino, Ph.D., is a New York State licensed psychologist with a private                                                       practice in Albany, NY centrally located to treat clients from all over the Capital                                                             District. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults across the                                               lifespan. Dr. Gravino works with both men and women, as well as couples and families. She                                         works with a variety of life challenges, including depression and anxiety, relationship and interpersonal problems, family issues, ADHD and other developmental disorders, sexuality, grief and loss, and many life transitions such as parenthood, divorce, career changes, and retirement.

 

Dr. Gravino received her doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York in 2002 and has been an active member of the American Psychological Association since 1996. She has been in private practice for the last 20 years helping hundreds of clients reach their goals in counseling. Prior to building her own practice, Dr. Gravino worked in a variety of settings as a psychologist including inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, an outpatient mental health facility that serviced dually-diagnosed individuals, and nursing homes. In addition, Dr. Gravino spent two years working with developmentally delayed children and adults at Wildwood Programs. She has experience with a variety of psychological disorders and works with her clients to build a trusting, nurturing therapeutic relationship that is focused on helping them to take positive steps towards their goals and overall health.

 

Dr. Gravino has also been completing psychological evaluations for those wishing to undergo bariatric surgery since 2009. In addition, she has consulted with Albany County Sheriff Department for the last 13 years completing forensic evaluations as a part of its hiring process for corrections officers and deputy sheriff candidates. Dr. Gravino also consults with Albany County Department of Social Services as well as Albany County Department of General Services to complete fitness for duty and return to work evaluations as needed.
